Eric John Shaw
With Masters Degrees in both Religious Studies and Asian Studies and a graphic arts background, I lecture on the history, philosophy and science of yoga worldwide with dynamic multimedia presentations.
My asana work brings 25 years of movement, meditation and teaching practices to novel styles of vinyasa and still yoga. I offer students knowledge of the ancient yoga tradition attuned to the modern experience in upbeat, energetic classes informed by excellent knowledge of posture, meditation and breathwork.
I am a regular contributor to Yoga Journal and other magazines and am under contract to write the book Yoga Unfolding: The History of Yoga in America for Anusara Press.
I consult, research and write for movies, phone aps, yoga teacher training manuals and other worthy projects in the field.
